Question 1

What is an outdoor floating sound bath and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

An outdoor floating sound bath is a sensory somatic experience where participants float weightlessly in heated water using specialized supportive cradles while crystal singing bowls and acoustic frequencies are played around the pool. The combination of warm water immersion, gentle buoyancy, and acoustic vibration calms the nervous system, downregulates cortisol, and stimulates the vagus nerve.

Question 2

What should I bring and wear to a floating sound bath session?

Accepted Answer

We provide heated water sanctuaries, specialized flotation headrests, towels, and blankets. Please wear comfortable swimwear and bring a water bottle. Warm plush robes, dry relaxation areas, and herbal tea are provided for integration immediately following the session.

Question 3

How does somatic anchoring differ from traditional meditation?

Accepted Answer

Traditional meditation relies heavily on top-down mental discipline and focus, which can feel frustrating when the nervous system is in a state of high stress or burnout. Somatic anchoring is a bottom-up physical modality that uses physical sensation, warm water immersion, and sound resonance to calm the body first, naturally allowing the mind to quiet down.

Question 4

Where are the Stillness Curated Retreats held and how do I get there from Vancouver?

Accepted Answer

Our flagship floating sessions and wellness retreats take place at private curated sanctuaries on Bowen Island and in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. Bowen Island is a scenic 20-minute BC Ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, followed by a short 5-minute drive from the Snug Cove ferry terminal.

Question 5

Is a floating sound bath safe if I cannot swim or feel nervous in water?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely safe. You do not need to know how to swim. Every participant is supported by ergonomic floating neck and body supports that keep your face, nose, and mouth securely elevated above the water at all times in a calm, shallow heated pool environment guided by certified facilitators.

Question 6

What is the Men's Grounding Circle and who is it designed for?

Accepted Answer

The Men's Grounding Circle is an intentional, armor-free decompression gathering designed for men, professionals, and leaders to release chronic tension and mental fatigue. Sessions combine guided somatic breathwork, sound healing frequencies, and supportive peer reflection without judgment or pressure.

Question 7

Do you offer private group bookings and corporate executive wellness retreats?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Stillness curates custom half-day, full-day, and multi-day executive somatic retreats for corporate leadership teams, private circles, and special group celebrations in British Columbia and Hawaii. Inquiries can be submitted directly via our Corporate Wellness portal or contact page.

Question 8

Are sessions suitable for beginners with no prior wellness or meditation experience?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All Stillness experiences are beginner-friendly and gently guided step-by-step by certified somatic practitioner Komal. There is nothing you need to prepare or practice in advance—simply arrive, relax into the warm water, and let the acoustic sound frequencies support your reset.
